New to the market: Witex elastoclic pur® – More speed, more variety, more prospects

Seldom does a new product reach the market, where one cannot decide which advantage to mention first. Witex International Flooring GmbH succeeded in doing this by developing elastoclic pur®. The new floor covering for the flooring market, which was first presented at the Domotex Hannover 2005, is just such a product, that features a wealth of favourable properties, which are all equally significant.
As the first company to manufacture this floor covering, Witex offers a long-lasting resilient floor covering on a polyurethane base (PU) with a lock system. By combining a pure polyurethane surface, placed on an Aqua Protect core board, along with the glueless Loc-Tec-Lock-System, which has been tried a million times and tested in the laminate and ready-to-lay parquet sector, the Augsdorfer company manages to combine the advantages of both these types of floor covering in one product.

In comparison with rolled goods, this system offers planners, architects and tradesmen a substantial time advantage. On the one hand, the handling is much easier, and on the other hand, the flooring can be used immediately after it has been laid out; preliminary work such as filling and waiting for glue to dry, which would otherwise be necessary, are avoided.
elastoclic pur® can be used wherever anti-static, anti-microbial, chemically stable and environmentally friendly properties are required of the floor covering. As a result, elastoclic pur® can be used in both, the Health Care sector, such as rehabilitation clinics, doctor's practices etc. as well as in areas, where long-lasting resilience and retaining properties are required, such as e.g. in kindergartens, schools and homes for the aged.
A floor designed by the customer
The 17 modern colours are available in four different patterns and encompass practically all the colours of the rainbow – from elegant Stone Grey to Mocca, Terracotta, Vanilla and Ocean Blue to Summery Lemon and Rubin Red. By and large, floors to suit everyone's needs can be pieced together from 68 different styles.
In addition, Witex can also deliver a custom-made floor covering on request, designed by the customer and adapted from the NCS/RAL colour register, for areas larger than 500 sq. m. The well-known manufacture and incorporation of individual customer logos, using the textile floor covering, is also possible under certain circumstances.
New market prospects for more trade professions
As elastoclic pur® is so easy to lay down, it is not only suitable for the classic floor layer trade. The easy to handle panel format and the tried and tested glueless Loc-Tec-Lock-System means less expense and an enormous saving on cost and time for the tradesman. This also means that Witex's latest innovation is also a new and lucrative source of income for other trade professions operating in construction, such as painters or drywallers.
Environmentally friendly and non-toxic
The sealed molecular structure of the PU surface means that the flooring is easy to look after, and can be cleaned quickly. The special protective Aqua Protect core board guarantees that the flooring will remain resistant in the long-run, even if it is used in rooms with increased humidity such as the kitchen or bathroom.
Ingredients, which harm health and which are detrimental to the environment, such as e. g. plasticisers, chlorine, solvents or formaldehyde, are not used when this floor covering is manufactured. Consequently, the floor covering does not release fumes once it has been laid down. Witex elastoclic pur is odorless, recyclable and is also non-toxic in case of a fire.
With a utility classification of 34, Witex elastoclic pur® has an excellent loading capacity. Thanks to a high wear resistance and a very high product durability, a cost saving of up to 35% can be made in comparison with other resilient floor coverings (according to a life cycle cost analysis – LCCA).
An outstanding product

It is not only a wealth of favourable properties that makes elastoclic pur® an outstanding product. elastoclic pur® is, in the purest sense of the word, outstanding. In January 2005, the new floor covering was awarded to the AIT's Innovation Award. And the Witex product has already gained a place on the nomination list in the competition for the "Award of the Awards", the Design Award 2006 of the Federal Republic of Germany,
by the Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Arbeit (Ministry of Economics and Labour).
