Witex market innovation: elastoclic pur
The resilient flooring panel sets the pace, brings variety and offers more opportunities

It’s not often that the market sees the launch of a new product that offers such a bewildering range of benefits. With its development of elastoclic pur, Witex International Flooring GmbH has hit the jackpot. This new resilient flooring panel is one of those products, characterised by such an array of positive features that each one deserves the spotlight in its own right.

With elastoclic pur, Witex is the first manufacturer to offer dealers and the trade a permanently resilient floor based on polyurethane with the click system. By combining a 100% polyurethane surface on an Aqua-Protect core board, with the familiar glueless LocTec click-joint proven on countless millions of laminate and ready-made parquet panels, Witex has brought together the benefits of both flooring segments in a single product.

Make more metres
Compared with products off the roll, it promises planners, architects and tradespeople a significant time advantage. On the one hand, site handling is far easier, while on the other, the floor is immediately useable after fitting and the normal preparations involving trowel work and waiting times for adhesive curing and drying are eliminated.

elastoclic pur will find applications on any floor where antistatic, antimicrobial, chemical-resistant and environmentally-friendly features are called for - in commercial and domestic settings. This makes elastoclic pur the choice for healthcare buildings such as rehabilitation clinics and general practices, as well as for all those environments where permanently resilient, insulating materials are required that are gentle on the joints, typically including nurseries, schools, care homes, health clubs and children’s bedrooms.

More variety - a floor for your client’s corporate image
The 17 trendy colours are available in two different designs and two formats spanning practically every colour of the rainbow from elegant Stone Grey through Mocca, Terracotta, Vanilla and Ocean Blue to fresh summer colours of Lemon and Ruby Red. A total of 68 different flooring options are available for any type of interior scheme.
Subject to a minimum run of 500 sqm, Witex can also manufacture the new floor covering to customer’s order in any NCS or RAL colour. Under certain circumstances, the manufacture and insertion of individual customer logos, familiar from textile floor coverings, is also an option.

New market opportunities for more trades
Simple fitting makes elastoclic pur attractive to craftsmen working outside the traditional floor fitting trades. The format of the panels makes them easy to handle and the proven LocTec click-joint means less effort for the tradesman and huge time and cost savings. With this innovation, Witex can help open up new and lucrative sources of income to other building trades such as decorators, drywallers and tilers.
Both the 294 x 1176mm panel and the 294 x 294mm square section are 12mm thick and available in uni and harmony effects, to unlock creativity and cater for virtually any customer requirement.

Environmentally-friendly and toxicologically safe
The PU surface has a closed molecular structure which speeds up and simplifies care and cleaning. The specially treated Aqua-Protect core board guarantees lasting durability even when used in rooms where high humidity is encountered, such as kitchens and bathrooms.
The manufacturing process itself employs no plasticisers, chlorine, solvents or formaldehyde, those materials which are so damaging to health and the environment. When fitted, the floor therefore releases no fumes. Witex elastoclic pur is odour-neutral, recyclable and non-toxic even in the case of fire.
Its performance classification of 34 underlines Witex elastoclic pur’s extreme hard-wearing qualities. Increased abrasion resistance and optimum life can return cost savings of up to 35% when compared to other resilient flooring (according to life-cycle cost analysis).

An excellent product
It’s not just the list of positives that makes this resilient floor covering so outstanding. elastoclic pur is excellent in the truest sense of the word. In January 2005 the new flooring product was honoured with the AIT innovation prize. And in the “prize of prizes”, the Federal Ministry of Work and Economics German Design Prize 2006, the Witex product secured a place on the list of nominations.
