Witex Laminate: Lots to report - but prices are fixed

Glad tidings from Witex for the flooring trade in 2006. As in 2005, so in 2006, prices from the in Augustdorf based firm will remain unchanged. All this despite the manufacturer’s introduction of a total of 13 new patterns in a range of finishes, and many more new products at Domotex. Higher performance classifications feature prominently. Thanks to a new product structure, laminates in the “castilia” collection have been upgraded from a classification of 32 to 33.

More choice and a better structure
For distributors and the trade, our innovations mean that across a total of six collections of laminate - bonita, marena classic, marena select, marena impression, castilia and grande - a wider selection allows differentiation with respect to competing ranges in a given territory. Witex professional laminates feature the tried and tested LocTec click-joint and the optional Sound-Protect acoustic system; their high quality makes them the choice of the professional fitter.
Domotex will also see the launch of the new laminate catalogue, restructured to clearly distinguish between domestic and contract products within Witex’s comprehensive range.

Witex is particularly pleased with the development of the “bonita” collection. Based on an FSC core board, this eco-laminate (registered as a “Blue Angel” environmentally-friendly product) is enjoying increasing support from the trade and end-users, proving that economical and ecological really can go hand in hand. Helped by „sehr gut“ (very good) certification from Öko-Test, the manufacturer has been able to score a considerable upturn in sales in this segment.

Our “marena” classic and select collections continue with their proven designs. The successful collections are complemented by a total of twelve designs in the “marena impression“ line.
Among the attractive new finishes are: two-strip Asiatic Ash and Tuscan Pine with matt finish and Smokey Acacia in country style single plank. Smokey Acacia with its tactile wood texture features characteristic knots and structural effects. When laid, the spectrum of colours in the finish runs from pale brown through to the original shade of dark brown. For perfect acoustics, “marena impression” can also be supplied with the optional Sound-Protect system.

“castilia” - also suitable for commercial use
In the “castilia” range, beautiful timbers form the motifs that drive extraordinary finishes. For variety, Witex presents designer-oriented surfaces with seven new timber reproductions that put the accent to style and unconventional living. A finer wood texture with enhanced sheen set these laminate panels with their Aqua-Protect core boards, edge-protection and LocTec click-joint apart from other finishes. The new finishes are Premium Beech, Mediterranean Cypress, Premium Oak, Walnut Style, Amazon Ovangkol, American Rosewood and African Zebrano.
With the African Zebrano in particular, Witex is aiming at lovers of exotic lifestyles. With their rich interplay of colours, the stripes of the basic material, alternating between narrow and broad, were a powerful motif in the development of the trendy single plank Zebrano. The popularity of Zebrano in modern furnishings has lately turned into notable success as a floor covering.

With Mediterranean Cypress, the manufacturer signals a future for living spaces with more flair. This pattern has great strength of character with a hint of a brushed surface; without giving an exaggerated rustic effect it effectively accentuates a Mediterranean way of life and the ambience of the South. With richly detailed figuring, this pattern’s characteristic floral motifs are also realised with an impressive 3D effect. Light shades are suitable for many furnishing schemes and it is available as country style single plank.

Inspired by the Milan Furniture Show where teak surfaces were a recurring feature, Witex gives a nod towards that trend with the simple stripes of its new Amazon Ovangkol finish. As a distinctive alternative to the ubiquitous teak theme, Amazon Ovangkol secures an effect of typically sophisticated modernity. This new finish is also available in the “grande” range of extra wide laminate panels.

The unusual “grande” collection, characterised by extra wide laminate panels with tactile wood texture, has been supplemented by three further finishes in country style single plank format. Newcomers: Tropical Dark Bamboo, Canyon Beech and Amazon Ovangkol. As well as its enhanced impact resistant surface, “grande” has a moisture-protected core board (Aqua-Protect). Its suitability for machine-cleaning (sweeping machine), is just one more high-quality feature which makes this outstanding laminate the perfect choice for demanding interior furnishing and commercial outfitting applications.
